Benchmark Symposium is an event that brings the Retirement Investment industry together in each region for an annual review of where the South African retirement industry is positioned in accordance with the rest of the world. This year’s theme looked toward the future – the year 2037.

 

For the theme, futurists were brought into studio to showcase topical events in the “future”. Each of these futurists put together their own view on the future, which was pre-produced in studio. Animated elements were created within the content to reinforce their message.

The venue was very restrictive owing to its physical size and height. Its chandeliers also proved to be a challenge. A 12m x 3m widescreen was used with 2 x HD14k Christie Projectors with a Vista Spyder x20 to achieve the look. Various lighting fixtures were used between the layers of the set to give the set a sense of depth and dimension.

 

The brand launch was a huge success and the client was ecstatic with the finished product.

Engen hosted 1100 dealers and staff at Sun City Resort for their Retail Convention. The aim of the event was to update the audience on the marketing developments within the business and recognise their achievements.

 

We were involved in Staff update sessions, the staff party, team building sessions, the exhibition, the main conference combining all groups and the final Gala Banquet. Multi-Media also took care of Digital Signage for the resort, which updated the guests on the agenda for each day and displayed Ad-loops in between.

 

Each little detail was covered from start to finish, making for a very successful event.

Sanlam host an annual Leadership and Management Conference to bring together the leaders in various areas of their business and update them on the status and strategy of the business for the year ahead.

 

This year was different owing to the rollout of a new brand and a new brand positioning. We were tasked with the job of subtly revealing the new brand elements through both content and set design over the 3 days, making for a full reveal on day 3 of the event. We incorporated lighting, set pieces and vinyl graphics to achieve this from a set point of view, with specially produced content to support this.

industry put forward a “case study” of their respective research within the industry and shared their statistics with the audience. We used a 20m by 4m wide screen with 3 x Christie HD14k projectors with a Vista Spyder x20 for the main screen. The content was played out in a combination of Keynote and Watchout to animate the entire screen for all the content elements.

 

The event travelled to four regions, reaching a combined audience of 1600 guests. We had just short of three weeks to put the event together and prep it for the road. A crew of 24 with 32 Tons of equipment and set elements travelled nationally to service the event.

Ernst & Young’s Strategic Growth Forum is their most prestigious annual event and attracts some 400 business leaders from all over Africa. The event is a platform to share the challenges and solutions of doing business in Africa with a view to increasing trade on the continent.

 

The event presented huge challenges for the team, with very limited time frames and a large scope of work associated with the installation. The set was some 26m wide with a 14m x 5m widescreen that formed the backdrop to the stage, for the purposes of relaying content. The screen was made up of a Retro rear projection surface within a 16m x 6m frame. 2 x

HD14k and 2 x HD10k projectors were stacked and blended to create a phenomenal backdrop to the stage.

 

A mother grid was used to assist with lighting placement to achieve camera images that were as true to life as possible. These doubled up to support the entertainment and provide effect lighting for the Gala Dinner.

 

We also set up 6 breakaway venues, each with their own complete set and Audio-Visual set-up. The main challenge here was running 60 radio mic frequencies between the 3 floors of the buildings while avoiding radio drop out at all costs, as each room was being recorded for the duration.

 

Multi-Media created and supplied all show content, from the opening and closing animation to all speaker intro and title slides.

 

The event went off without a hitch and both the local and European EY offices were delighted with our delivery.
